When Jaselle, Kyle, and I first connected they knew they wanted to have a small intimate wedding that felt personal to them, but the details were still yet to be written! I spent a lot of time getting to know them, hearing about how they first met, their early dating days, how the pandemic nudged them to move in together in Kyle's Outer Sunset apartment, and how they loved walking through Golden Gate Park, watching the sunset at Ocean Beach, and frequenting restaurants in the neighborhood.
Jaselle and Kyle were excited to get their family and closest friends together to celebrate, not just for one day but for the whole week. They loved the idea of having a Thursday wedding, so they could spend the remainder of the weekend with their loved ones in a more relaxed state.
After some scouting, we settled on an elopement site in Golden Gate Park, near the Dutch Windmill and tulip gardens. Not an actual "site", no reservations needed. Just an open grassy area with the Windmill in the background and a perfect tree to serve as an altar (also a nice 10 minute walk from my home!).
Following their ceremony in Golden Gate Park, guests were invited to Jaselle and Kyle's favorite sushi place, Tazaki Sushi, for dinner, drinks, and celebrations! They were able to have the restaurant all to themselves and their guests indulged in a live sushi bar, delicious sake, and an intimate evening filled with laughs and traditional Hawaiian banzai cheers.
In order to keep the love of San Francisco and appreciation of the west side of the city going, we sourced all local, San Francisco vendors to bring their wedding dreams to life. It was a team of badass, San Francisco women and they rocked it!
Weddings like Jaselle and Kyle's really drive home why I love what I do. My job is so much more than creating pretty things and getting people to the altar. I truly enjoy getting to know my couples and what makes their relationship unique. It is this deeper connection that allows me to create days that feel fully custom and unique.
