Prior to Shefali and Charlie's wedding, I had zero experience in planning an Indian wedding ceremony and party. Shefali and her parents taught me so much about Sikh ceremonies and traditions-- details that I have carried over into every Indian wedding I have planned (and I've planned almost a dozen now!). I love adding modern design touches to traditional aspects of these cultural weddings and incorporating details that represent the couple and their individual backgrounds.
Pilar with Gorgeous and Green brought to life the vision of a mandap in the jungle. We used The Plant Library for some height and dimension and repurposed the plants in the lounge areas after the ceremony.
A perfectly adorned rickshaw to sweep the couple off after the ceremony.
I loved leaning into the green and black in the design. My personal favorite? The emerald green mirror table assignments with the Bruno Mars lyrics "What you doin'? Where you at? Oh you got plans? Don't say that."
We used gobo light projectors to display tropical leaves all over the blank walls of Blanco Urban Venue. The warm uplighting and plants really made it feel like a balmy, jungle night!
The dance floor was poppin' allllllll night long!
